Went to my sons house today and found my first silver Quarter today, plus a few other nice finds. the Quarte is a 1920 standing liberty! ;D ;D ;D
also found a 1964 nickel
a 1958 5 centavos
a 1934 wheatie
1945 wheatie
1955 wheatie,,and several other coppers. no dimes, and only one
zinc penny ??? ???
the bad part was that I told my sone he could keep the first nice coin out of his yard and the Quarter was it! :'(
the Quarter and the wheaties were within a foot of each other,, a pocket spill maybe.
his yard has real hard packed and dry soil, so I told him after we get some good rains I'd like to try that spot some more....all in all a good couple of hours :)

Congrats on the first silver....I know your son is proud..lol HH and hope you find many more.

Thats a great example of one of the hardest to find quarters! I would tell my son to respect his elders and pay let you keep the coin!

I would definately go back and check that yard. Great finds!

Outstanding! I've got a '20, but your coin has about 3 times the detail, including around the date.
Good finds!

You can even see each toe in those pics, nice detail Congrats

also on my wish list

now thats a great first silver Q !!! all the best on the return !!

Congrats on the SLQ! Maybe you could keep it for now and tell your son he will get it back when you are done with it, LOL. HH, Mike

That's a pretty SLQ!

Of course you know those are not that common to find. Having a date is even better!

Congratulations on your first SLQ!

I expected to see a Silver Washington, I was surprised to see the SLQ.
Congratulations on your first silver quarter, definately beats the Washington as a first.

A 1934 wheatie is a "nice" coin. The SL quarter is a "great" coin. So what did you promise your son? ;D

Daryl
