Words can't describe the feeling I had when I discovered what could be one of the best folsoms ever found in this great State. I was on a hunting trip with my two boys and some good friends in Cenertal TX. We were going on our second day of the hunt. The day before we had all picked up something either whole or broke. My expectations of the hunt were fulfilled way before I was blessed with this great point. My 5 year old had found his first point the day before and my 13 year old had picked up two nice pieces earlier in the morning. I enjoy just getting out and looking, this trip had already been one of the best for me, getting to spend time with my boys and hanging out with great friends, I really couldn't ask for more. All of our discoveries were just the icing on the cake.
And then it happened! We had came to a spot that just looked good, and felt right. I will be honest in saying that at no point in these last two days was I expecting or even imaging that one of us could or would stumble upon a Folsom. They are almost that rare, we all dream of it and have it on our bucket list but to think that it would actually happen, well it's really just not a reality, at least till now! I will reflect back on this day and weekend for the rest of my life for sure. The point is 2 3/8" long and 13/16" wide, it just over 4 mm at its thickest and less than 2 mm between the flutes. It will make an appearance at the Temple Texas Artifact show on June 3, if you are in the area come on out, some of the Artifact displays at this show are amongst the best in the country.

..: FANTASTIC FIND TBrandum :..

I know nothing about points, but I'm not blind ether, that thing is gorgeous!! Congratulations on a great find and hunt!

I have found a lot of arrowheads, knives, drills and other working tools but never one like that, really nice. congrats

I don't know a lot about points, but I love finding them. That one looks really nice and simply amazing how super-thin that thing is. That must have been a dog to carve one out that thin without accidentally breaking it.

That will grade extremely high for you. Worthy of authenticating and documenting, just absolutely stunning, congratulations! Sub 8-)

They say the Folsom people were THE master knappers, I feel the Cody people were right there behind them, but it definitely took a lot of skill to make.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on a great find

Welcome to the forum and awesome job on the find and to spend it with good family and friends is the best.

Beautiful artifact you found, congrats!

Damn, that thing is nice!

Now that is one beautiful and rare point-razor thin and superbly made. A Paleo of course. I'm voting BANNER for this one-it belongs at the top.

OMG that's one of the most beautiful Paleo points I've ever seen. The photos are excellent! Congrats!:headbang:

Thank you for joining and sharing that with us. I would be very stoked ! My bucket list is a Cumberland. I think it will do well at the show.

Man oh man, that literally made my heart skip a beat as soon as I saw it! I can only imagine how you felt. That is a work of art. I sure hope to see you posting more of these. Welcome to Tnet!

Mine heart skipped as well when I seen it, it was like my eyes knew what they were seeing but my little brain wasn't processing it fast enough lol.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and welcomes!
