Hey all, we've been MDing all over the place since my last post in early July.Went back to that park by the cottage and found an indian (1884), but no silver. We made a couple of silverless returns to Indian park, with the exception of today being the big day of the month at this park. I was working an area in the field next to the woods where plenty of wheats where found a while ago plus a silver rosie. I hadn't found any yet but my dad walks over and shows me a nice 1903 O barber dime. I've been craving a barber for a while now. Anyway, later on, accross the field in a picnic area, I got a nice signal that sounded like a half dollar. It pinpointed at 7.0 inches, so I figured I had either a silver half or some kinda iron hunk (I wasn't real optimistic about a silver half ::)). About 6-7 inches down, I was choppin around when I suddenly saw the edge of a silver quarter. This was a delight since I hadn't found one since early spring. Then I was more delighted to see that I had found my first standing liberty!

Let's see, the 29 merc was found in an area of the metroparks we haven't hunted much. And the other indian (190?) was found the day that I decided to MD instead of go fishing with my dad. (The fishing didn't seem too good lately.) There was a row of bushes, and they chopped out a couple feet of them, and that's where the IH was. I found the 43 merc (our best looking merc) that day also. This is the site that I pulled my first seated and the barber quarter from in the same day last year. Oh, I found the 1945 1/4th wheat penny at the an older school . I don't think it was a mower victim (I looked for the other part). So that's about it. I'm still working on permission for an 1835 home. A friend found a 1830s large cent there in 15 mins. Happy huntin out there. 8)

Indian Lake is between Bellefountain and Lima , Oh. and was an old amusement park. There was no gigging , really, the coins just had no more than a half inch of dust that had accumulated on them. Out in San Bernardino, Calif. , in the mountains, I found some old cabins at an old resort, got permission, and found the best coins under the porches where I had to crawl. They had dropped through the cracks over the years. Good luck this weekend !

Nate, Awesome finds and even better pics. What kind of camera do you use anyway!!! Nascarfan

Those are some nice finds there! The Standing liberty quarters are not a common find , so when you find them it a treat! Great job and good luck in the future! 8)
