So I got my goodies today and put it all together at lunch. Didn't get to try it out but I like it! Got a White's TreasurePro and all the goodies needed to go out and have fun and find some stuff plus goodies for my son!
Later at home, I built my sons tool belt and he was a happy camper. Got his pouch, digger tool and his pin pointer. He is looking sharp and ready to find some goodies! I got my pouch, digger and pin pointer all setup as well and wanted to play with my detector... it is getting late so I play in the house and was not too happy. My son ask what's up and I explain. He said, remember how bad mine did in the house? Wanna go outside and try it? It was a bit late and very dark but I couldn't resist so we grabbed our goodies and out we went.
I had my detector and he had his belt setup... he said you detect and I will be your digger. I was already set with how to use the unit as I read and watched and read more so I had it dialed in within minutes. Threw down a penny, nickel, dime and quarter to make sure all was good, everything was working sweet and then started in the front yard with a spot light on and a couple of flash lights.
Swinging away we dug 7 holes and found 6 pennies and 1 dime! One of the pennies was a 1934 Wheatie! My son was so excited and wanted to keep going but it was getting late so we went in, cleaned up everything and then went to look at the coins. This is when we found out it was a Wheatie and I explained what it was. He was excited and we talked about coins and looking forward to doing some more after work tomorrow.
So we both are new and the first time we both swung we found some goodies in my front yard. He found 1 dime and 5 pennies and I found 1 dime and 6 pennies. He laughed and said you had to beat me, right Dad! It was awesome! I said No, it's a tie. The Wheatie goes into a special container, the rest go in our finds tin and it's got 30 cents... 15 from you and 15 from me. He smiled, gave me a hug and we talked about tomorrow and the weekend and what we can find and where to go.... Awesome time!
Should show his find from last week with his detector too. About 15 mins down the side of the driveway while he learned the settings of his unit.
