We finally got some heavy beach erosion around here. Out on the beach early this morning before low tide and very first ping was this crusty "Walker". It's my first, wasn't sure what it was in the scoop. Also picked a Mercury dime dated 1942 same as the Half Dollar, 2 wheaties and 2 one dollar coins. I did a little research on the heart shaped piece. It's stamped A H Dondero Washington DC. A H Dondero Inc. was started in 1922. They made officer uniforms with accessories along with distinctive unit insignias. The heart has a skull and some lettering on the face. Haven't been able to find anything else on this piece...Good Luck Out There

Heart could be a Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity Heart EOE is the symbol for that group.

Congrats on your first Walker. One more piece scratched off the bucket list. It's always nice finding big silver. Way to go!

1st, 3rd,15th or 50th target it's always a Great day when you find Big Silver! Being the first target of the day and your first Walker had to give you the warm and fuzzy feeling the rest of the day! Big Congrats on your first one!!

Looks like a nice walker congrats...

never found any big silver like that, guess they are so hard to find because they where so hard to lose?Either that or I just can't find one:)like Metal said,I bet that sucker really gotya goin.very nice find, congrats!

Thanks for sharing the goods! Congrats!!

NICE! Never found a walker, let alone anything larger than a quarter. Congrats!

Nice finds. If I'm correct, the lettering stands for Sigma Theta Epsilon.

That Walker is a beauty!!! My heart would have been pounding!!! Congrats! What part of California are you in?

I would prefer to find a large walker half about midway through my hunt. About the time the back and knees are starting to hurt and I'm thinking of packing it in for the day. Out pops that huge silver gem and suddenly the back and knees don't hurt as much and I'm good to go for at least another 2 hours. Congrats on your first walker. They are a beautiful coin.

Congrats on your first Walking Lib.

Awesome finds! Guess the "Old used Whites Surfmaster" was digging them deep!

Congratulations on the silver finds!

The original Surf PI prototype was the best design ever for finding gold according to Bill Lahr the designer. I've visited his home for some repairs on this machine and he's quite the character. He's got some great detecting stories. He's also written a book 'Understanding and Using Your Metal Detector'...... It's got two knobs on/off and set the ear buzz and that's it. Digs bobby pins @ 10+ inches in the wet. Love this detector so much I bought a second one in pristine condition from some guy on TN. They are hard to come by and I wanted a back up. You can't get new coils for them and White's doesn't want to work on them. Battery pack mounts on your hip, shaft and coil are very lite and easy to work with in the water/wet sand.....:)

Congrats on the Walker! A choice find.

The pins is a frat pin... The frat is called "Sig Ep"... sigma phi epsilon.

I was in another fraternity during my college days. We used to tease sig ep's and refer to their fraternity as "sigma phi oops I signed". I apologize if I'm stepping on some old gispe's toes, oops another shot there :) I just had to reply. Reminded me of wild days gone by... Happy hunting out there!

Very nice finds, Congrats to you!
