First (technically silver) silver coin!!!

1945 S war nickel! I was in awe to look at this coin. I think it has a really nice tone to it compared to other nickels that I dig up. After 2 years of detecting I finally got my silver though and I am one happy guy. Let's hope there's more to come.

I count 10k gold as gold (41.7%), so I have no problem calling war nickels silver (35%).

Congrats! Silver is Silver even at 35%. I'd take a war nickel over most of my finds any day. Some people are so jealous of other peoples finds that they just have to make a stupid comment or make it about themselves.

Congrats on the beautifully toned silver war nickel! I'm still hoping to dig one. When using your new detector (much more advanced than my little Bounty Hunter work horse) keep in mind that silver can be hiding with the iron! My prettiest silver ring with stones was lurking among a scattered nest of rusty nails at the beach! You'll dig some beautiful silver jewelry soon, it's just playing hide-n-seek with you now!
