I love to hunt relics, so I'm a long way from paying for any of the machines I've purchased. I find a lot of rusty stuff. The early history out here in Oregon didn't contain many coins, the old homesteads I've searched turn up mostly junk, along with a little interesting old stuff. I have friends that search parks etc. and have found lots of rings and money. Maybe I'm weird, but that's secondary on my list, although I've swung local parks, and have a few mostly junk rings. I had one guy throwing money out in front of me so I'd find something. Ticked me off, so I left the park. I searched an old Doctors place, and found a diamond ring, and I thought I'd finally broke into the big time. But the doc was a cheap skate, and it was a junk plated ring and a glass rock. Last August I hurt my back, so haven't been out for a long time, but there is an older house where I've been given permission to hunt. That house was built using square nails, and should have some silver around there someplace, and I think I'm going there just as soon as my back is up to me getting up and down digging targets, which at my age isn't happening very fast. But it's a hobby, and I have a lot of fun doing it, and it's really fun when one of the grand kids wants to go dirt fishing with grandpa.
