First Time MD'ing (backyard to beach)

I've been a registered "lurker" here for quite some time. I finally got my hands on a Gold Strike MD from a friend of my dads. Having not used an MD ever, I managed to figure it out in about 20 minutes, and started finding nails in my backyard. I convinced my dad to take a trip with me 12 miles to the beach, and got to do some TH'ing for about 45 minutes.

The first 45 minutes of my TH'ing life, I managed to find 2 nickels, a pyramid sinker, 6 bobby pins, and a nail. I sure as heck didn't have the right digging tools. (a sand screen and shovel from my kids beach toys was all I had in the Xterra)

All in all, great first experience. I think I'm going to get my own MD asap.
