Having a toddler really impacts your hobby time. I haven't been out in over a year (haven't been on Tnet in probably 3 yrs) and was home doing yard work in the heat Sunday afternoon and decided to take a couple of swings in my yard. We moved to a home on 7.5 acres.....but the home was built in 1976. I checked the historical atlas maps for the County and there were no structures nearby prior to the home being built. As such, settled back in December but I had no real interest in detecting the property. I took a break from the yard work and grabbed my backup Ace 250 for some impromptu swings (my DFX of course wasn't charged). Ten minutes later....in my yard about about 50 yards from a small stream on my property I get my first target....it's an Indian Head penny. Only the second one I've ever found. 2 minutes later and a foot away I get another target....an 1890 Morgan Silver Dollar!!!! By far my best coin find ever. I sprinted to the house to show my wife and almost had a heart attack. Our 2 yr old was napping so she was excited and came out to watch. I proceeded to pull 4 more indian heads and a liberty nickel, all within a couple of feet of each other. So stoked and got bit by the bug again!

I've since been out detecting the yard every night after work...found one more pocket spill from the early 1970's but nothing else but pull tabs. I'll post again if I find anything else of interest.

Thanks for reading this long-winded post.

Wow - Congratulations! :occasion14:

Very Nice, and I feel your pain about not getting out. I went from going out every day in History rich areas in Nevada to not going out at all after moving to Northern Arizona. There's a Big 'ol Canyon that is very much in the way of sensible travel. [emoji1]

Congratz on an awesome coin! :hello2: I have yet to find a silver dollar.

That is insane! , you definitely found an old spot!

Congrats on the great coin finds silver dollar still on my bucket list

Congratualtions on the large silver recovery! I bet there is more in the area of the stream, possibly a swimming hole. GL & HH

Injuns and a Morgan.........awesome finds!! Hit both sides of that steam as often as possible..........!! Congratulations..........

That's Sweet!!

Mucho outstanding! Welcome back to TNet and the habit. We'll expect to see more from the 7.5 acres.

WOW!! That's awesome!! :notworthy:

Holy moley, congrats on the ridiculously awesome silver dollar. Welcome to the club!

Welcome back Mouse ! Long Time for Sure :laughing7:

Nice finds

Thanks Jeff...family and work definitely impact a young man's priorities haha. Hope you've been doing well.

Just a sign of what your missing Great find

Congratulations on a super large silver.. That one still eludes me. Is the stream large enough for a canoe? These were the "roads" in the 1600's Bill

Since it's been 3 years since you were on Tnet, let me welcome you back...
Fantastic digs, hope you can find more....7.5 acres, I'm sure there is!

The stream's only about 4-5 feet wide and unless there's a heavy rain only a couple inches deep with some of the pools up to a foot or two...certainly not enough for travel. However, there are quite a few natural springs on my property that feed into it so it certainly would have been a good water source. I'm weed wacking along the banks on each side right now to make some paths and to be able to get some swings in of course.
