This is my very first post on the forum. The first time out with my Fisher F2 and I'm really impressed! I've been detecting 20+ years and bought the F2 to carry in the truck, also bought a Tesoro Compadre for my 6 year old daughter, both worked perfectly today! Had a little trouble pin-pointing with the F2 and larger coil, 4" coil and Compadre worked like a charm. My daughter found two clad dimes with the Compadre, lost interest and went to play. We hunted an area about 20 yards square and found the following (see photo) lots of modern coins, a 1944 wheat penny, a 1912 V nickel in fine or better condition, 1858 Flying Eagle in poor condition. Not bad for 1 1/2 hours of searching! And to top it off spent some quality time with my daughter! :icon_sunny:

Welcome to the forum willpond. Nice finds  I have an F2 too, the only time I have trouble with the larger coil on the F2 is when there are a lot of targets in a small area, the machine is so fast it picks things up that are right next to each other. When this happens, I usually scan the area with a few sweeps to see what size area I'm dealing with and then I work from an outside point until I've worked my way through. I don't even use the pinpoint button on the machine, I just narrow it down side-side and front-back. Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips, have about an hour scheduled for tomorrow after work. I guess I'll see what a new day brings. This is a great forum!
