Tried my luck at a mid to late 1800's logging camp site I was told about yesterday. There was literally no trace of any structures in the area so I was not even sure if I would find the place until I started hitting nails and patches of nearly completely oxidized roofing tin. It was hard to tune out all of the signals from the rusted debris with my Ace 250 so I probably missed a lot of good finds. What I did find I have pictured below. I especially like the log stamping hammer.

Welcome to T-net! I am sure you will find some great stuff with that Ace 250, I sure do find quite a bit. Neat finds.

Looks like you also found the jaw piece of a cantdog or peavy which ever term you use ! Nice finds ! The marking hammer is awesome ! Remove the iron and tin : should be a few coins underneath ! MaineRelic

Welcome to tent. I agree there should be some coins in there. You will be surprised at what that iron can hide.
