Back to my permission (1850 farmhouse) yesterday... Another gorgeous day, clear, mid-high 70s, and plenty of shade trees... 😅
Unfortunately, it was also one of those days... Y'know... 😉 Nothing (except junk) until the very last hole.

But in that hole was my first tombac button. Saw it almost immediately when I flipped the plug; thought it was a dime. Then while rubbing it gently in my fingers, I could feel the curve and the shank.

When I looked them up on goggle, it said tombac buttons were likely to be late 18th C., which would predate the farmhouse by half a century. That seems.... unlikely to me. How late were these buttons mfd., and are there any ways I might be able to date it more accurately? THX.
