Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
The rain let up long enough for me to get out again this afternoon and I stuck close to home because I didn't want to ruin my detector by getting it soaked. (I need to figure out a way to make a water-proof cover for it)

Dug up penny after penny until I was about sick of seeing Linclon's face. (LOL! I guess it beats the heck out of pop tops!) Other misc. stuff popped up every now and then to keep me sane and alert. The best part was I did get my first trade token today. It reads:

"C.E. BANKER 172 E. 3RD STREET ST. PAUL, MINN." and on the other side: "GOOD FOR 5¢ IN TRADE". I haven't found anything on this business so far but I just started to search. Any time I find a first is a good one in my book. If the weather cooperates on Monday, I'll give the area another go and see if I can't find some more.

Thanks for looking! Everyone who shares on this board is truly an inspiration to me! :)

(Added the kid's pirate ring photo because I thought it looked cool.)

OH YEAH ~ that trade token is a sweet find! Those are one of my favorites to dig! CONGRAT'S!!

cool finds pirate ring neat your diggin good keep it comming

Nice going!
That's a lot of nice finds you got there. That's more digging than I do in 2 or 3 trips out.
Have fun!
Mike

Thanks for the great feedback! :)

mikewaz - Thanks! I spend about 6 hours hunting on my day off and I have been pretty lucky so far. Probably due for a "dry spell" soon.

teleman 2525 - The ring would have been much cooler if the back portion had been on it - I'll do my best to post more!

oddcoins - Thanks! You ever heard of this token before? (Long shot but I hoped somebody that collected tokens might be familiar with it..)

Going to try and get out for at least a few hours today. My hand and arm are pretty sore from all the detecting this week and I may have to take a break of a couple days. LOL (NEVER!)

Mackaydon - I've seen a few mentions of this person listed in old newspapers from the 1890's on up but nothing with any real data that would clue me in on what this token is about. I'm sure there are plenty of unexplained tokens floating around out there and this is just another example of one of those. Still, something I can research on rainy days.

That appears to be a awesome day out with the detector!! CONGRATS!! ;D

Takes me a year of digging..

..to find one, authentic trade token. And I live out here in 128F heat in the Mojave Desert up against Death Valley. I'D rate your trade token a 10+. You're learning young that those who search, find. Those too lazy to search whine a lot because they don't find anything.

Pretty cool Trade Token, Congrats!!

Trade tokens are great items to find.

I had no idea how cool it was to find one of those trade tokens. Just from a couple days of browsing online and I can begin to see just how many different shapes, sizes and designs there were! I better be careful here because I don't think I could take yet ANOTHER addicting collection - lol! Still haven't found any more information on this token yet. Just starting out in this hobby but I see how words of wisdom like "..those who search, find. Those too lazy to search whine a lot because they don't find anything" (Marbleguy) inspire me to go out and keep digging. Not going to find anything by sitting around. Too true!

Thanks again for the comments!

Very interesting trade token :icon_thumright:
(I need to figure out a way to make a water-proof cover for it)

I usually just put a plastic bag over the display :D. Cannot see the reading but I detect purely by hearing. Readings can be very misleading.
