hey guys thanks for the welcome in the other thread, heres some stuff i dug up in an old gold mining area near home.

put the black glass thing in my trash pouch then had a 2nd look when i got home, not sure what it is but i like it.
and an old buckle in a pile of quartz trash.
no gold but i wasn't game to venture to far into the bush by myself with all the old shafts and diggings.
was more a scout trip then anything plan on going back there for a full day and seeing if i can turn up any gold.

Neat old buckle! Seems that "quartz trash" may contain some attractive traces of gold enjoyable as display specimens, though maybe of no value. You're wise to be extra careful in the brush around old mines. In Arizona, I came very close to falling down a 40-ft shaft when ducking behind a bush to take care of business. Rewards on that trip were seeing gila monster up close (not too close) and the hilarity of several horses following my husband and I single file for the first half of our hike, lol. Andi

Love that buckle! Sounds like there is lots more stuff there just waiting to be found!
