I've been collecting for a few years now but till I start reading this board never thought to get rolls straight from the bank. So yesterday while at the bank I thought why not, an older gentleman was turning in rolls of coins in front of me so I just asked the teller if I could buy them. It was just a roll of nickles, dimes, and quarters but it got me started.

So my results weren't great for the 3 rolls but they were interesting and might have gotten me hooked

Nickles - Wartime 44D
1956 - Not silver (right?) but still old and filled a spot in my collection
Quarters - I haven't been collecting Quarters so I don't know what is silver and I should keep, but these are the oldest (pre 1965)
1941
1953
1963D
1964D
Dimes - One silver dime 1954D
and this it's the excat same size as a dime.......

SWEET finds and that was the best thing you could do was ask to buy those rolls! Keep it up and congratulations. The coin is from Germany, very nice!

The coins made before 1964 are silver,so the 1965 quarter is NOT silver. You are correct. If you decide to collect halves pre 1964 are 90% silver, 1965-1969 are 40% silver and there there are halves that are silver proofs.

Just one thing to add to Pennyworth's reply, the 1970 halves are also 40%. HH

Do you folks try and complete a full set while you are hunting or are you just going for the silver, wheats, etc?

Impressive! Silver quarters are RARE in rolls these days - nicely done!

very nice for only 3 rolls. congrats and welcome to the insanity of coin roll hunting lol!!!
