Went out to an old area where we have 4 baseball nets on the corners of a large field.
Not a lot there except 'cleats' from shoes, found a few pennies, dimes and quarters.
Then I decided to search around the bases of a line of trees and right against the trunk was a penny sound but a little different, dug and pulled out a 1919 s wheat penny.
That made the morning.

Congrat's on the first wheatie. I hope that you find loads more. Just keep in mind usally where there is a wheat or to there is bound to be a silver or two. Or at least that has always been my experiance.

thanks...I did find a '65 quarter close by ..missed silver by 1 year :(
though I did read that some '65 quarters were struck in silver ('64) in error.

Great find. I also hit the trees in the parks and schools. I figure that when people get tired or want to get out of the sun they will sit next to a tree. The coins tumble out of thier pockets.

now it will all start flowing in.........wtg

congrads on another first !!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wheats are nice finds....always check for a 1922 (no mint mark)! Congrats

Congrats Aussie, found my first wheat last week..... ;D

Congratulations Paul. Really nice when that first wheatie is a teen one. The 1919 S one seems to be one commonly found, I think it was one of the few S mint pennies I have found MDing. But still a great find to me.
