What is the date and mint? Congrats on your first, I love wheaties!

Congrats! :notworthy: :occasion18: :blob9: For me it was a big deal because I detected for over a year without digging wheaties or silver coins, while my son cheerfully pulled up both! :dontknow: The day I dug my first wheatie in old field, I also dug my second wheatie just a few feet away a couple minutes later! Also same day about 30 feet away I eyeballed a surface find of a 1923 silver dollar, my first silver coin! So - speed yourself back to your wheatie site and detect the whole area very slowly -- you'll probably dig more wheaties and some silver coin! :icon_thumleft: Andi

Congratulations ; It's a big deal to me, esp.a pre, 1940,s Wheat Cent.

Yes, big deal here too! Took my longer to find my first wheatie, in fact, I found 5 slivers before finding my first one. And I save ever one I find.

got a 1920 about like your just a few months ago.

My 1st was a 1913 from my own yard and second was a 1917 a few feet over, so you remember them lol

And now begins the addiction!!!

I hope you find many more in your hunting career (plus a lot of silver and other neat things)!

Frame that (1st wheatie) puppy! Thanks for sharing...

Hey. Some people get tired of finding wheats. But I love finding them

Nice going and your first wheatie is a great find!! Also means your in silver territory too.

Well done!

Nice job:headbang:

You've reached the first plateau. . . I'll bet you find an Indian Head in short order. . . and it will be totally unexpected when you do.

Anything old is good. It is even better when it is your first. Awesome job. Hope you find a lot more.

I think all firsts are BIG deals. Sure a wheat cent is not a big deal to a lot of people (at a point), but it is "your" first, and you do have to start somewhere.

I remember my first square nail, and many other firsts. They are all important, and I do think maybe a bit more excitement on your part is in order. Remember there are others who haven't found one yet.

It's a great hobby, and good luck out there.
Keep diggin, more firsts are coming.

Good job my first was 1909 I've found over 50 my first year lucky me lol.. There fun to find because you know your in the right spot for silver coins

For some reason I find dozens of 1944s' and 1957s'. I have come back with a handful and half are these dates.

The 44s' are worth something if they are double minted "D" over "S".

Way to go!!! Got you an old coin!!! I find wheat cents and love finding them.........don't know where you found it, but an old wheat cent like that could be a sign of some more older coins in the area......... Good find.

Thanks to you all for being awesome. Finding your words of shared excitement and encouragement are just as rewarding as the coin find.
