Fisher F2 battery life question

Fisher F2 users - What kind of battery life are you experiencing from your detector? I used my F2 for just the second time today and it dropped a bar of battery life already. Is this normal for this unit? I'm using alkaline batteries as per the manufacturer's instructions. I also always use headphones.

i have many detector all sorts of battery configurations and the more you use pinpoint mode or the dept indicator and beep the detector the more you draw on the bat three the ones that take 8 or the three seem to last the longest

my own
my 5900 is 4 C" mxt 8aa classic ll and amphibious ll 3 9 volt
it take one 9 volt just for the for the speaker that why white's have sound all to there own cx plus take 6 c"
classic l 8aa GtaX400 8aa that's it i think well.
