Went out to a local park yesterday and found this 925 ring and clad I also found a old button with one shank on the back

Nice finds! That is a musicians button, see if you can read the back mark to date it. I found this one like it last year that dates from 1859-1863. From what I've read civilian and military used the same button so its hard to determine which it came from.
