Found this in a corn field today. Wondering if anybody has any knowledge on it. Thanks

That is a fishing lure; you have it upside down. The lure's running depth could be controlled somewhat by which hole you chose to which to tie. The larger hole at the bottom would hold the split ring which held the hook. I think I saw it in a Bassmasters mag about a year ago (they run a monthly article on collectibles). Don't recall it being very valuable, but if you're interested I can thumb through the back issues at the office for more info.

I didn't know the holes controlled depth, that's an interesting fact. I didn't think it was worth anything just curious of years it may have come from. I was hunting a field area that a plat map from 1886 showed a house to be and after digging nail after nail I dug this. Obviously it's not from the turn of the century but may give me an idea of when the the last house may have been there.

That is a "Silver Buddy" fishing lure. It's a good ole lure. I've caught many a Largemouth Bass on one of those!!

The Silver Buddy was introduced in 1983 by Paul "Buddy" Banks. Hope that helps!

Sure does. Thanks alot.
