Fishing the Sacramento River

My son and I did some fishing on the Sacramento River on Friday. Using fly fishing gear, all catch and release.
Together along the bank. Great looking shoreline for prospecting over much of the banks.

A lot of fish were caught and released, non showing any harm. A lot of fun with a fine son.

Nice looking wild fish! What flies were they hitting?

They hit real good on mayfly nymphs, rubber legs and caddis nymphs.

Hi Dizzy, you’re right on the boat. It belongs to my son‘s best friend who rowed us up and down the runs that day. He’s just gotten his guiding license and took us on a complimentary trip down the river.
