Got out for a 'quick' hunt on Saturday (Remembrance Day). Went to a park found 50c and ALOT of rubbish. Followed by a school where the rest was found. Found a grand total of 65c, 2 cars and a nut that looks like a mini wheel nut.
The only thing that made Saturday OK was that the 50c piece I found was the 1995 one honouring Sir Weary Dunlop. Weary (Dunlop=tires=tired=weary) was an Aussie doctor that was imprisoned by the japanese in WWII he saved numerous lives and is regarded by many as one of the all time greatest Aussies. The horrors that Weary and his fellow POW's experienced were unspeakable. My Grandad did nearly 4 years in jap camps and he never got over it. We owe them all a great deal.
I thought it was a somewhat appropriate find.
Thank you to all diggers,
Lest we forget
