Flat button + 2 mystery items I need help with
Early morning hunt in an eastern Massachusetts colonial field. Found one nice flat button. No backmarks so I assume it's pre 1796 (if I understand well, it's when backmarks became mandatory). Still new at this so please feel free to let me know if I am off with my dating/assumption. Then got two mystery items. I posted close-ups in the "What Is It?" Forum. The one with the Chinese characters puzzles me. 10" deep in a colonial field. Go figure!
