I found this old flat button last weekend. Sorry for not having a picture of the front but the battery in my camera went dead. The front is just, yes, flat. The back says KING GEORGE IV. It also has "STANDARD" in smaller letters. The inner portion says "TREBLE" and the bottom inner says "GILT" There are two symbls that could either be clover or crosses on each side of the outer wording. Thanks for your help !!

Political, patriotic, and commemorative backmarks on plain-faced gilt brass buttons were not uncommon in that period. Examples include American buttons for politicians, and British buttons honoring the Duke of Wellington. Yours bearing the title of George IV could date either from his coronation in 1820, or his death in 1830.

"Standard Treble Gilt" is what's known as a quality mark and refers to the metal finish of the button.
