Does anyone know what the significance of this flat button is? I found this while detecting on a plantation near Charleston, SC this past weekend along with the other items that can be seen. It has an eagle back mark with arrows to the eagle's left and 5 stars above the eagle.

The best find was a King George II half penny which I was pretty excited about that one. I'm just curious about the flat button and the concave style button that can be seen in the photos. The concave backing and large size would suggest it may be early to mid 1700s but maybe someone could help me out on these! Thanks for any input

Here is a close up of the button since the other photos don't show it very well.
