Hitting the field tomorrow for an 8 hour day with the Nox 900. Large multi-layered site with former ag fields now forested. Finding quite a bit of this style of wire fencing in the ground. Anyone know the date range when this was used? Seems to be from fencing meant to keep animals out of crops as opposed to keeping animals penned in. Probably didn't want barbs injuring the livestock.

It was patented in 1885, so late 1800's - mid 1900's would be my guess.

It's called ribbon wire, you could Google for more info.
