Florida Treasure Legends Including KGC

of the Confederacy and $35.000 in gold coins alone with a separate coach carrying the
personal papers, chronicies and wealth of President Jefferson Davis crossed into Florida
from Georgia in an effort to elude pursuing Federal troops. They camped on the line of
the Fernandina and Cedar Keys Railroad in a forest southwest of Gainesville, near a large
plantation. ( the old Yulee Plantation just North of Archer, and it was here that the chest of
papers and treasure were hidden)
