Focus Stacking

Tried this today ... hand held, so a little off ... but took two different images of the same scene, but with different areas of focus --- then combined the images.

It's called "focus stacking" and I liked the effect. Next time will try to use mini tripod. Biggest think in this pic (looks like a strawberry) is about 1/4" across.

Cool. How about a side by side of the two originals you used?
 

Yeah, should have done that but kinda sore from yard work so got in a hurry to go stretch out a bit.

First image is near focus, second it "far" (if 4 or 5 inches can be considered far). Increases depth of field for macro shots.

Hardest part of this is that my Nikon L340 is autofocus only so had to force the focus for the second pic then line it up using the thirds markers.

It's actually called "focus stacking" but my photo software "can't do that" so it must be focus layering for me.
