Hey Tinpan, nice to see you posting again. I have been wondering what you have been up to and now I see. Those are some nice digs you got up, that buckel is a great piece.
My buddy Rick and I will be trying our luck on some old gold fields this fall when the under brush dies down. We were hoping to get there this Spring but the weather just wouldn't cooperate, and then the bush got too thick so we have to wait for the autumn.
Good luck this year and I hope you get lots of nuggets.:treasurechest:

We have pasties here.Immigrants who mined get credit for their introduction. A pie crust small plate diameter folded over a filling of meat, rutabaga ,onion and carrot a common one some places.Egg wash before baking makes it a durable albeit hard crust suitable for wrapping in a kerchief or tossed in a tin lunchbox. Depending on your location,(and a cause for argument at times) catsup or gravy can be tried to help the crust. Dad said the Cornish miners would heat them on their lamps and the sooted crust pieces would be discarded, with the saying they were for the Tommy Knockers.

Thanks for sharing Cornish gold miners here much the same Google history of the eaglehawk football club Much as you have said but whats more interesting is the fact American pocket watch maker Waterbury in 1896 put 22 gold watches for the best football team Eaglehawk F C being mostly Cornish won the prize.
