Went to an artifact show in the Tx. panhandle over the weekend and saw some amazing collections. The first frame of Folsoms is the largest collection of Folsoms that I have ever seen. Since the show was in the Tx. panhandle, I was able to see a lot of artifacts made from alibates chert.
Sorry the pics aren't better.

That's so pretty it brings tears to my eyes. Tell me one person didn't find all of those.

The top two frames are only a small part of what this gentleman had displayed. I believe that he bought most if not all of these pts. It is hard to imagine what he must have paid for that first frame alone. He told me what his whole collection is appraised at, but it is such a ridiculous number, I won't even mention it.
The other frames were from different collectors but I can't imagine anyone finding so many nice pts. Pretty sure they bought a lot of them.

I think a person would be extremely lucky to find one perfect Folsom in a lifetime....they are extremely rare in my area.

Yes to find just one… would be crazy good. Nice views for sure.

My dad has a fulsome. I've found two fluted points but nothing like his.

That is a very impressive assemblage of Folsom pieces!

I am in awe! Thanks for showing them!

I have hunted some hills in my area that should be prime locations. All I found on them were larger chunks of flint (not cores) that had been worked. Also found extremely old and weathered slightly worked pieces. You know something is old when it has 7-8 flake scars and the ridges between the scars are rounded. Those hills never produced more than a few pieces of debitage. I always wondered if these locations were overnight Paleo camps and if there are fluted treasures buried deep in the hill!

I like going to shows and seeing what I might find. Thanks for the pics
