Footprint in Granite?

While hiking in eastern AZ I came across this "footprint" in a granite Boulder. It is vertical and there are several other similar prints going upward on the rock along with one indent that reminds me of a coyote track alongside one human looking print. Is it possible to have footprint fossils in granite?

Actually, no. A footprint in granite would be termed a fossil. Granite is an intrusive igneous rock and when it was deposited it was about as hot as a volcano. Probably another group of rocks tumbled into the hot melt and either got fried, but not before leaving an outline or a softer rock weathered out of the granite.
