?

Although it is somewhat hard to identify the denomination, I am almost certain that is a 1942 German (Deutsches Reich) 5 Pfennig coin made of Zinc.

Yep 1 pfennig

just keep stacking, just keep stacking, stacking stacking stacking

The thing that can also change the value is the letter that is on it. A, B, D, E, F, G, and J are all letters that are on German coins. This one looks like a D, and its value is around $.20.

The letters represent the mint mark.
The "D" mintmark represents Munich.
The "J" mintmark in the coin I referenced is from Hamburg, the home port of the mighty ship 'Bismark' that sunk the 'Hood' in WW II--but I digress.
Don.

Looks like a 1 Phenning to me:

Don.......

You are right Don, my bad! I was seeing the hole in the "1" due to corrosion eaten into it and thought that is was a 5 Pfennig piece. I should have looked closer!
