I seem to have a sharp eye for finding the micro teeth and blind to the mega! For years while hunting teeth I was picking up fossilized bone and throwing back down because I didn't know what it was. One day I found a piece that looked like turtle shell and the light bulb went off. Thanks to a young fellow on the beach picking up my castaways. He educated me and I've been hooked since!

Nice collection you have going..careful you may wind up like me with buckets full of pieces ..I've started only keeping whole or otherwise special examples.
Try timing your hunt with a good erosion event to find some bigger ones.
I'm headed out tomorrow morning at low tide myself.
I find bigger pieces then..but more at mid tide.

This collection represents another trip from the one posted in your previous thread. I had trouble posting this photo from my IPhone and is why the double photo. Some of the pieces although small were interesting although it is difficult to see the details from the photos. I tried different shots of those pieces to post separately but still was good. 2 of the pieces look to be from the spinal column. Another looked to be the man made building material, tabby but had a fossil protrusions. It would be nice to plan a trip around erosions, storms or the occassional dredgings Fernandina does but I am from Middle GA, work full time and have other responsibilities. I have been lucky enough to just happen to be there on vacation when several of these mentioned have just happened. But then I also have to share the alotted time with the rest of the family doing things they like. That's why I get up before sunrise and get out there and out late in the evening sometimes when its way to dark. That's what cracked me up about your photo hunting at night with your hat with the headlights! That's going to be me next time! BTW, what can you tell me about the yellowish sharks teeth?

The color depends on the minerals in the ground where it spent most of its time.. Iron gives a yellowish to orange and eventually redish brown color to the teeth.
Alot of them from Vilano are yellow to rust colored.

I got chased out by a nasty thunderstorm.. managed one broken bull shark tooth and a broken horse tooth.
I left a bunch of broken bone and turtle shell pieces.

Nice quick find! What do you do with your finds? You are fortunate to live near the beach. It will probably be end of summer or early Fall before I can return. something to look forward too. I feel pretty safe hunting or medal detecting on the beach alone being a female. Although I stay alert and don't wear headphones as you never know. I can't just get in the car and go medal detecting here at home alone. I suppose it can be dangerous for anyone in the times we live in.

Thankfully I have an entire room in my home that I have devoted to my fossils,Native American artifacts and shipwreck finds.
Some in frames some in drawers with padding and some on shelves or other things I make.
I recently cut the Center out of a coffee table added a shadow box below the hole and cut a piece of glass for the top and wired a light to it.. I'm proud of that one.
