I could not get out with vol today because I had to stay close to work. Vol hunted a Civil war camp and found a few bullets. I hunted around an old house, just off the Public Square in my home town. The yard is approximately 3 acres. A couple years ago, the owners bull-dozed down some out buildings and an old blacksmith shop. The entire site is full of trash. I didn't have a lot of time so I detected down the small ditch and found three badges in about 30 minutes. I spent a grand total of about 45 minutes there, but it was so trashy, I decided to go to a house that I had never hunted before. I got permission to hunt this house last week and I only had 15-20 minutes to hunt before I had to be at work. I started in the back yard and got some good signals. I decided to only dig large targets because I didn't have enough time to spend on small items. I found two clad quarters in the back yard and I passed over numerous dime and penny signals with plans to return for them later. In the side yard I found the "JUNIOR POLICE" badge. I believe it is made out of brass. I believe there are several coins in this yard and I plan to return there this weekend. I am not sure what organization the other three badges belong to. The one with the star has "GATE KEEPER" engraved in it. The other two has "AWARDING COMMITTEE" AND DIRECTOR" engraved on them. Any help identifying these badges will be greatly appreciated. Also, If anyone else has found a badge, I'd like to see it. Thanks for looking.
