WOOHOO!

The city was tearing out an old tennis court at one of the old local parks here. I had my detector in the truck and only a few minutes during my lunch break. It only took about a minute to find this awesome 1908 Barber Quarter! I'm hoping to make it back before the city finishes the project underway! Here's the coin, the project and also an old house across the street which shows the age of the neighborhood.

Good luck out there!

Nice find! Thanks for sharing...

Great find. Love those Barber Quarters.

That is a one minute hunt you will never forget.

Excellent recovery.
When parts of our parks are being renovated fir improvements to the basketball court, tennis courts, etc., they always put up chain link fences to keep people out of the work area. This helps the city to avoid lawsuits brought on from people getting injured. The only way you can search is if you make friends with the contractor.
Congratulations on your find

Great job getting to that tear-out and rescuing a fine looking Barber Quarter! I've seen more tear-outs than I've ever had the time or the nerve to detect. I congratulate you on your motivation too as well. :icon_thumright:

I tear up when I see asphalt getting spread & grin "bigly" when it gets ripped up :laughing7:
