I moved out to Ohio about a year and a half ago due to life happening and will be here at least another year before heading back to New Mexico. The area I live in has been around for a while and was a huge town back in the early 1900s. They had streetcars on all the main roads and a really old tennis court and baseball area (which unfortunately has become a paved grocery store parking lot). I went out to a local park that was built in 1907. I first detected the park when I got to ohio and found a 1944 Walker. Since the weather is finally breaking I went out on the first day and started gridding areas I missed. As I got around the dirt that surrounds the kiddie playground I get a high tone and I'm thinking it's junk. Dug it up and out pops the 1942 Walker. Smiled and thanked God for that one.
The following day I hit another park that I found and it was a lot smaller. Found 2 quarters and lots of dog poop that the owners left from their puppies lol. Decided to go back to the park that I found the second walker at and started from the other side. This kind of blew my mind but I was by the basketball court and I was the only one there. I saw something that was on the aluminum bench on the court. It looked like and crumbled up gum wrapper that was from Wrigley's that is silver in color. I thought for a second and figured I better go see what it was and it turned out to be a sterling silver ring. Didn't even need the metal detector on that one. Some days like that just shaking my head in wonder.

Man that Walker must have been lost in '43, such beautiful detail! And the ring on the bench, nice icing on that cake!
I was surprised by how good it looked coming out of the ground. The 1944 was a lot more worn and the edge of it looked like it was dropped on the concrete but I'm happy with both. They're the first ones I founding the 3 1/2 years of metal detecting.
