Found a carved necklace. Need help on stones :)

Black heavy beads with genuine pearls and 14k beads. The beads have crushed under the weight if the black beads. My questions are what are the black beads (remind me of glass but?) and what is the foo dog looking animal? Chinese? Thanks all for any help! Love this forum...

Thanks Gib! That looks very similar. Also, the link I posted said Jade but I was under the impression it wasn't jade because it is solid black. No light shows through. Thanks again for the help!
