002.webp010.webp012.webp006.webpWent back to the new site today.Did a little better this time around.Found a chess pawn made from a sharps bullet ,a decent treble gilt button with eagle on back, and one of those bullseye pewter buttons. Some of the carved pieces I have found in the past have always been questionable weather they where actually chess pieces or not,but this one there is know doubt what it is.Between the soldiers art and what looks to be a Spencer casing, I know there was some civil war activity there now. Thanks for looking HH

Thanks,They don't get old at all.I don't find them very often, but they are always a nice treat when they come along. That is one of the nicer ones I have found.

That's a priceless find DI2. That's all I can say about it. That button is a new one for me. Do you know any history of it?

Thanks Old Dude.I am pretty sure it is London manufactured.Probably mid 18th century.

Luvin the Histroy of the Carved Sharps. It gives so much insight to those Heroic guys everyday lives....

Still waiting to find my first carved bullet. Very nice!

Love the game. Can you imagine what a full chess set would weigh? A king and a queen two rooks two knights and two bishops with eight pawns x2 =32 bullets and game on.
Great find for your collection.

that's a cool find there, kinda gives you a mental picture of what was going on back in the day:icon_thumright:

YES , Old School of Fishey 1266 X is still alive and well :cake: it just goes to show you don't have to drop the BIG buck$ to get the Quality keepers , just my personal opinion and yes , I have tried a few newer D teks . Fisher X machines will find the deep targets .
Great trench carved relic and the interesting comments , not a two word #s cruncher ,
