Hello,

So, I went to the thrift store today. In the display cabinet I found a clarinet. Very good condition and working. It was priced at 65 dollars. According to the internet, some clarinets can run from $250 to over $1000.

For the price it was at, and in its condition, it was a very, very good deal. This has to be one of my favorite thrift store finds.

What do you guys think of it?

Smart buy. It looks fairly old.

Nice find! Is it wood or plastic? :icon_thumleft:

It's wood. I forgot to mention that.

It plays pretty well, by the way.

It looks very nice, but I dont know anything about them. I played the Coronet.

You would probably need to include the make of it , and any other info you have to help with those questions

Thanks for the input so far, guys. I actually noticed something on the clarinet, and now it's got me curious about how old it is. I would like your guys's input on this.

on the upper part of the clarinet, the logo says evette. On the mouthpiece, it says France. It also has an N4 on the mouthpiece. On the lower body, it says, very faint, "(Something) in West Germany. it then has the numbers 79717 below that.

at the end of the clarinet, the same logo on the top is there, Evette.

A lot of sources on the internet say that this company, Evette is based in France.

That's all the details I can give. What do you guys think of it?

Okay, I got an update for you all.

So, I took the clarinet to a music store that I go do frequently. The store has a good reputation and knows a lot about instruments. I showed them the clarinet, and I asked a couple of questions. They told me two things.

First, this is a student clarinet. This type of clarinet that I have normally run $650. I got it at a thrift store for 1/10 price. the second thing they told me is that there is one part missing, but it's very easy to get a hold of. The part is called a ligature. Is basically used for holding the Reed on.

Well, it was a great find and an excellent price.
