Detector(s) used

Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
I was detecting a park yesterday in the tot lots and wasn't getting any hits and could see that it was hunted recently as the holes where still open (dumb a$$) anyway I was ready to leave and I got a over load and I kicked the dirt back in the hole and there it was and fairly new garret pin pointer so I took it to the park office and the guy there said to just keep it he said that guy never fills his hole and has been warned several times and if I leave it there he would just throw it away anyway so I brought it home so now do I try to find this man on not?

Hell no! His karma is catching up with him. Find a kid who's interested in the hobby and give it to him.

If you find him, try to educate him and if he listen and agrees to put on the best practices of the hobby, give him back the pinpointer. If not, keep the pinpointer and let's hope he looses his detector soon. :headbang:

I lost mine yesterday, unless it burrowed its way to Kentucky its not mine. If you want to sell it let me know

Saw a bunch of open holes with pull tabs on top of the dirt pile a while back at an old beach on Grayson Lake in KY. Wonder if its the same guy ?

I committed a Cardinal MD Sin and lost my Garrett Carrot... Not a clue in the world how or where... But I can not find it ANYWHERE...

Didn't happen to find it in Victoria, BC, Eh?!

Edit: I cover my holes though ;)

Go back tomorrow, maybe you'll find a detector :laughing7:

The person that leaves their holes uncovered, should have the pinpointer returned as a butt plug.

Maybe the guy gave it a burial. Some people act wierd while frustated.

It's a possibility

There are some real freaks in the world... especially in some of our parks.

I'd wash and disinfect it really good first, then thank Karma for taking it from his worthless hands and delivering you a nice gift.

Great find.

Keep it. I lose mine constantly while digging, but I have not left it yet.

The person, man or woman must be stupid to cover his pin pointer and forgot it. They broke the rules by not covering their holes. Shame on them. good hunting and good luck.

hah! I say keep it.

plugger- It's certainly up to you. I generally try and look at things from the other side. What if it were yours, and someone else found it? Would you like them to at least try and return it to you?

If you decide to try, contact Garrett, see if owner registered it.

Let your conscience be your guide, and keep a close eye on your own pinpointer :laughing7:

If he had filled his holes he would still have his pin pointer, park guy would have put it in the trash, I'd say it's yours!

It's a found item so keep it.

Unless you try to return all the coins and jewellery you find too
