Was able to squeeze a 45 minute park hunt on my few days off, after running errands this morning and just before picking up my grandaughter from pre-Kintergarten. Generally, when I tell her I went THing, she asks if I found a car. In her book, matchbox cars are the neatest treasure. She generally acquires them from me using any method possible. If cuteness doesn't get it, then she just plays magician and makes them disappear. I keep telling her they are boys toys but she insists that girls like them too. She will probably end up with the silver ring I found in the ocean a few weeks ago too, as it will fit her in a few years. Anyhow, using the Tesoro Tejon, I managed over $3 in change from the hunt plus a little gold-colored earring and a brass pin. The latter is similar to a hinge pin, but I believe it actually has a mechanical purpose-just don't recall its purpose. One find, I thought to be a brass spacer molded in black plastic on the edges. I thought perhaps part of the hinge operater from an old lawn chair. However, upon cleaning the finds, I discover it is a mini-cache. The black plastic turned out to be layers of electricians tape and the brass middle turned out to be two Susan B. Anthony Dollars (maybe not SBA's, yet, they are $1 denomination each-still cleaning them). I can only guess someone lost their emergency money from their penny loafer shoe.
