I found a new construction area and every exposed rock is workable material. High grade flints and chert, chalcedony, and hematite is scattered all over this mountainside. I only found one piece that appears to be worked, it's a large uniface like chopper with edgework. I've never seen this much raw flint before. I know there has to be a site nearby but I didn't find any artifacts but this one piece. The only problem seems to be a close water source, I didnt find any springs and the closest creek is probably half mile away. Where would you look in an area like this? I figure there has to be at least a quarry site anyway.

Man it looks like the motherlode. The site has got to be at or near the creek. Beautiful spot. Lots of fields here same way with material no artifacts though. You would be lucky to get anything without the dozer it being in grass. Go to the creeks,,, to the creeks, the creeks,, creeks, lol good luck.

Brought a couple cobbles home to knap on, pretty nice quality flint. I'll hit the creeks nearby next time I'm over that way, thanks
