Hello everyone. The hunts have been good to me in the last week. I decided to try a new spot 3 blocks from my house. A stretch of park that is 1/3 of a mile by about 200 feet along the river. In a 1937 arial there was a gravel path which is gone now. So that is where I started the hunt.
Yesterdays find of the day was this copper or brass stamped eagle. Im not sure what it went to. It looks to me that it may have had pins on the back. It is about 4 inches across. Anyone have an idea? There are so many variations of the eagle with the olive branch and arrows..

Last week at the same spot I had a nice deep suprise. A first for me is this suspender buckle. It was about 9 inches deep giving me a repeatable 27-29 signal. Thought forsure it was going to be a quarter but this is way better. Its a stamped piece with no markings.

A few feet from the buckle was another first. A complete oil lamp wick adjuster. It was another deep signal and it was actually still in the gravel of the old path. The name on the thumb wheel is Holmes, Booth & Haydens Waterbury, CT. They were in business from 1851 to 1901.

So the first time I went to this spot the first good target was this kids badge. Another first. Lone Ranger Silvers Lucky Horseshoe. From what I can tell these were made from 1934 to 1939. That started the hunt on a good note. I was hoping it would bring me some luck..

Well Hi Ho Silver it did bring some luck! The next good target ended up being a black tarnished silver ring. The main stone is missing but still has 2 small stones on the side. It is stamped STERLING on the inside. I looked in the sandy soil to no avail to find the big gem. I did soak in lemon juice over night and this is how it turned out.

So very happy to have the ring. This is only my 3rd ever and my first with the Equnox. It fits my wife's finger perfectly. Any ideas on how to get some more shine back to it?
Here are all the goodies together. Not pictured were a 1918, 193? and 194? wheat pennies. The harmonica reed I thought was a fluke and the reason I looked at the old arial pics. So glad I did the research and came to hunt this spot more seriously.

Thanks for checking out my finds. I will continue to hunt this spot for a while. I feel that I have barley scratched the surface. Good luck out there. Happy Hunting and stay safe!
