I found a ring today with my new AT Pro. First real hunt and got a ring. However I am unsure if it is Silver or Silver Plate or something else. It has the following number. The best I can tell it says 5929 20. It might be 5920 20 but look at the best photo I can take and see what you think. I searched the web and nothing really answered my question. Thanks for any info you have.

Enlarging the image I can see where it seemed to be S925, but the 5 looks oddly stamped over with a 0 or 9...? Anyway, I'd think it may be sterling.

I'm by no means an expert, but when I look at a blowup of your photo it looks like S925 to me, which would be a mark for silver of .925 purity. The 20 that follows it also could be a 2G. Does it weigh two grams? If so, you've possibly got a two gram silver ring. Either way, nice find!

Thanks so much, I didn't even think about an "S". That makes sense now. Thanks

Now I can see the "S". Thanks for that and it weighs in at 2.65 Grams. Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I am quickly getting used to the difference between the ace and the AT. I have been finding less junk and more good hits. But I still do my part to clean up trash! LOL
