Found a virgin site right under everyone's noses

I got out to a new site I've been wondering about. I spent an hour there today before sunset and had a very good treasure to trash ratio. The site is on the oldest map I can find, 1851. The merc and barber were pretty shallow and cleaned up great with the Andres pencil. The wheats were deeper and as usual toast. Thanks for looking and stay out there as long as the weather permits.

Nice finds, but I wouldn’t use an andres pencil or any other abrasive cleaning method on a silver coin. See my post here on how to clean blackened silver coins:

Thank you for the reply BB. The pencils are very abrasive. I use the brush pencil often as a buffing tool. Seems to work well but probably making micro-scratches. Thanks for the link, we do our silverware with the foil/baking soda. HH

This is a school site. So maybe kids were dropping them at church Sunday school. Interesting though. Maybe it's like the different coin styles nowadays where you can have a couple nickel or penny styles from different decades.
