Wow, nice thimble. By the markings I'd say it's Sterling Silver. I found one that had markings on it one time. The home site I was hunting had the peoples name on the thimble. I gave it back to the owner, who said it would have been his great grand mothers thimble.

Thimbles that are engraved like that are amazing, such a small personal item like that held such importance in those days.

I have found probably 10 to 15 thimbles in the last year, all of them crushed almost flat and all copper, some with silver paint. Usually advertising thimbles. That is a family thimble, in fantastic condition and with lovely engravings. Congrats!
