Found an interesting button but need help

What type? Age? Alot of civil war activity in the area it was found. Also a 1939 s mint dime

it looks kinda like the lion on spanish coins, also looks a (B) or a 8 on the shield in the middle, please anybody

good finds seems buttons are alot like coins different designs years I cant keeo up with all these cool buttons Well done

unfortunately i think you might be right, i knew it looks iffy on the age, but i can be hopeful right? i have found some nice cw buttons and tons of bullets from this area though

The shank is modern but it often fools people because it looks like an 18th century one.... but the rest of the button tells is that's clearly not the case.
