Went back to the spot i found the cob yesterday as the detecting gods would shine on me again, wasn't too far from where i found the other one yesterday and the first one i ever found a few years ago.again i found some coins with most not identify because of wear but one copper had some detail. the little thick one with the face on one side and the crown with double X looks to be some type of weight maybe? i can't believe i am still finding early things at this old place of mine from years ago.i will keep on going there as long as it keeps on giving.

Nice. 1663. Love those Potosi and Lima cobs as they are easier to get one with a date usually

It's a beauty along with the other finds. Congratulations.

Awesome find congrats

Nice chunky silver, Spanish is still on my bucket list! Yep, it's never 100% hunted out. I found 13 1800's era coins at a site last year that I thought was cleaned out, the Equinox said "Say it isn't so". Huge site, lot's of trash, patience.

Good for you! Nice finds. How far/close to the coast are cobs found. I'm mostly 5+ miles inland.

Very nice, congrats on another cob, still looking for my first

How exciting! Congrats on some great finds.

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!! Drooling!!!

Beautiful man....just beautiful !!

Gene I have found 2 cobs and I live in the mountains 300 miles from the coast. They were used as coins for everyday commerce in colonial times. So they can be almost anywhere. Keep swingin and you’ll find one.

Your detector is the wayback machine. That Lincoln sure looks out of place. Gary

Gene,i see you also live in NJ so theres a good chance you willl find one sooner or later, lots of early sites in central jersey and theres plenty of state
ground you can hunt.

thanks for the id on the coin weight, same time period as the cob. hopefully i can find a gold coin to go with that weight.

This is excellent it sounds like you have a really old site that needs to be gone over with a fine tooth comb!!! I hope a cob is in my cards someday!!!

Wow! That Charles 1 coin weight is a beauty! That is an old old find for the US. Just wow. You have an amazing early site!

One of your coppers looks to be Charles the 2nd too so it looks like you’ve hit a bit of a 17th century hotspot!
