...with the help of our pottery hound (Land-Magnet) with his trustee 4 legged houndette. This site was a tip off from one of the farm mgrs. It wasn't even a maybe target on our list, looking back on google earth the only clue was a darker patch of soil (no crop marks). As the field had 3 inch high beans growing in it, we did the next best thing. The 1/2 acre copse & flatten game strip (once corn), these were 200 metres or so from the site, but I thought it had to be close enough for the odd find
(although on some roman sites that means the difference of lots of coins to nothing)
4 hours (8 manhours) effort & we have just broken the 200 Roman Bronze coin count for this year.
