On front it says SWEDISH AMERICAN TELEPHONE CO. CHICAGO, U.S.A I tried pulling more info up but didn't find much. Any other info on this would be great. It has a PAT. date of 1899. thanks

Looks like the guts of an early telephone. Screw off the mouth or ear piece and there it is. Just a guess..

Believe vwayne hit the bullseye. Phone was a candlestick model. try running Yahoo search under swedish american telephone co. Believe #2 has rhumbnail pic. about 10-12 down.
